Sensory storytimes are geared for children ages 10 and under who have a hard time in large groups, are on the autism spectrum, or are sensitive to sensory overload.Our librarians will use a variety of preschool-level interactive books within a structured format. Storytimes will include the repetition of songs and movement activities to stimulate all five senses, and promote learning and participation.
Front & Center is a free music event for school age kids from noon to 1pm. Each month there is a new special guest. Second half of the event is always an open stage for any kids, solo or group, to share instrumental or vocal music if you choose, or just listen and enjoy!
A favorite local attraction, the Athens Farmers Market will inspire your inner chef.Every Saturday year-round and on Wednesdays, April to December, locals and visitors alike head to the Athens Farmers Market at 1000 E. State Street, for all things fresh and local. The market is open from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
Come lend a hand as we get the rails ready for a great new season. Camping and cabins will be available. We will also be providing a simple dinner, which everyone is invited to attend. You can add a dish to share, if you'd like. We will also have a campfire gathering Saturday evening after the meal to meet the Neise family, share our excitement about the coming year and celebrate the arrival of spring and warmer weather.

In & Around the Barn, An Inaugural Exhibition Opens Friday, March 27th, 5-7pm.The Dairy Barn Arts Center is proud to announce the first ever exhibition of its kind, In & Around the Barn, an inaugural exhibition. This exhibit kicks off with a range of participatory artworks and performances for old and young, Friday, March 27, 2015 from 5-7pm. Twenty-three artists from OH, PA, NY, and L.A. and two Ohio University art classes will situate installations, performances, videos, and projected images throughout the inside and outside of the Barn, not just in the gallery.
Open StudiosCommunity members of all ages can come to the Dairy Barn most Saturday afternoons 1-5 and make some art with us!
